Operation Backstep
Operation Backstep was a secret branch of the United States national Security Agency, a project so secret that not even the President knew about it.
It operated out of a huge complex somewhere in the desert area of Nevada, New Mexico and was often referred to as ‘Never Never Land’.
Its mission was to reverse catastrophic events such as assassinations, bombings, wars, etc. and carry out other special missions crucial to world peace. Sometimes, the members of Project Backstep found ways to make these special missions serve personal needs too.
The sphere was a rather large intricately designed, blue globe that travels backward in time. It was powered by alien technology retrieved from a UFO that crashed at Roswell, New Mexico. This fuel was known as Element 115.
A time jump could only go back seven days because that’s all the alien fuel supply would allow. The fuel supply needed seven days to fully regenerate, so if the ‘backstep’ went back seven days, then the crew had to wait seven days before another mission could be attempted. Therefore, when a disaster occurred, the team tried to get the ‘backstep’ in operation as quickly as possible to save fuel. One never knew when another trip would be needed.
Members of the Backstep Project team devoted their lives to their mission. Some of them lived at Never-Never Land, while those who had homes elsewhere still spent most of their time at the complex.
