My Family Tree
It has more roots than you can see,
This old and sturdy family tree;
The roots have spread throughout the years,
Its branches now reach far and near;
Each time I dig, I always find
More limbs and branches of some kind;
We're all part of its history -
This old and sturdy family tree.
The names so far, in alphabetical order, include: Bailey, Bambury, Bestone, Caines, Ford, Herridge, Ivany, Jones, Matthews, Nurse, Pinson, Spragg, Wells, Welsh & Williams.
The Newfoundland communities where some of these ancestors lived are: Anderson's Cove, Brunette, Grand John, Lally Cove, Lobster Cove, Pool's Cove & St. Jacques in Fortune Bay;
English Harbour, Fox Island & Freshwater in Trinity Bay; Bonavista, Bonavista Bay.
Other communities were Shepton Mallet & Pilton, Somerset, England; Poole, Dorset, England.
As everyone who has ever attempted to do a family tree knows, the deeper you dig the further the tree expands. There are still branches I have not yet touched for one reason or another.
However, I will continue digging up the bones of the past as long as I can.
