The Chronology Of A Winter Storm
On Monday, January 25, 2004 most of Newfoundland was hit with a severe winter storm; and strong winds causing blizzard conditions.
Throughout the day I kept opening the back door just enough to shovel the snow from the concrete step. I had brought the shovel inside earlier. If I had not done that, I could not have opened the door the next day.
Things calmed down somewhat throughout the night and on Tuesday morning everyone was out shovelling.
The photo at right shows the amount of snow gathered on the walk. From the door out, it was more than two feet deep and packed down hard.
