This huge juniper tree has stood near our back door for years. This year (2005) was the first time
it ever had a bird's nest in it. We could watch everything through the kitchen window. Photos were taken through the window, which is why they are not totally clear. |
May 27/05:
Spotted the beginning of a nest in the juniper tree, then watched the robin finish building it. |

Left:
By June 1st the robin was sitting on her eggs.
Right & Below: The eggs had hatched and Mama Robin was feeding her babies. We could only see two. |

We didn't see the young robins leaving the nest. One day they were there, the next they were gone!
A few days later I was lucky enough to get close to one of the babies when it was taking shelter
in the far corner of the back yard. We don't know what happened to the other one. |
