General Reading

I interpret ‘family reading' in two ways: (1) stories which parents, grandparents or older siblings read aloud to younger children; and (2) anything which is suitable for reading by any member of the family, regardless of age. Most importantly, I view family reading as clean, wholesome entertainment; by which I mean no foul or explicit sexual language, and no prejudice of any kind.

Some of the stories included here may be a bit too advanced for younger children, but children's stories are found elsewhere on the site. Some stories are very short -just one page, while others are several pages long. Apart from that, you might find anything from true stories to fantasy, sea stories to science fiction, and just about everything in between. The nature of the story depends on the source of inspiration - which could be a witnessed scene, a cartoon or something that just pops into my head out of the blue.

Only time and inspiration dictate when stories are added to this list. I hope you enjoy them. Stories for family reading can also be found in the Holiday Pages.
