Attacks on London

Hat Hat

It was the morning rush hour on July 7, 2005. The people of London, England boarded the busses and subway trains to begin their normal daily routines. Their minds were filled with thoughts of various things they had to do during the day and perhaps their plans for the evening hours … not terrorists! Unfortunately, things were about to change.
At 8:51 am (British Standard Time) an explosion rocked the tube tunnel between the Liverpool Street and Aldgate East stations. Five minutes later, at 8:56, while everyone was still in shock, a second explosion occurred between Russell Square and King’s Cross stations. Two more blasts followed shortly after: one at 9:17 on a train heading into Edgeware Road station; and the fourth on a double-decker bus near Tavistock Square in central London. A total of 52 innocent people were killed and more than 700 were injured.
Two weeks later, on July 21, four more minor explosions, shortly before 8:00 am, targeted three underground trains and a bus, but with no casualties this time.
In both instances, police and emergency crews reacted swiftly and efficiently.
This page is in support of the victims, the families affected and all those who helped during the tragic events. My thoughts and prayers are with you, now and in the days of uncertainty and healing that lie ahead.
