INTRODUCING: 'The Song Doctor'

Ray R. Jones, AKA 'The song Doctor', is a very unique and talented individual, who is still dedicated to helping preserve traditional country music. The songs that Ray records still receive substantial airplay on an international level, proving that he still knows what it takes to appeal to the public.

Back in the sixties, Ray was a featured singer and lead guitar man on Nashville's Grand Ole Opry shows. He also performed at The Showboat and The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. Ray has shared the stage with many of the traditional country artists, including The Glasser Bros., Wilburn Bros., Little Jimmy Dickens, George Morgan, Red Foley and Bob Wills. In addition to this, Ray once had the great honour of performing for President & Mrs. Johnson.

As a songwriter, he has co-written with some of America's greatest songwriters, and had songs recorded by such famous artists as The Glasser Bros., Ernest Tubb, Red Foley, Eddy Arnold, Charlie Pride, Elvis Presley, Eddy Fisher and Roy Clark.

Now retired from all public aspects of the music business, Ray and his wife Betty live a quiet life in Lamar, where they enjoy visits from their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He keeps busy helping other songwriters polish up their songs and making them more commercially viable. His 'Sound Quest Songwriter Service' is run from a home studio. Occasionally, one of Ray's songs is included on an E.H. King compilation disc and does very well, especially on the overseas charts where radio program content is not quite as restricted.

We consider that connecting with Ray Jones, The Song Doctor, is one of the best things that ever happened to 'Songs 'R' Us Publishing'. He has worked on a number of our songs and we are thrilled with the results.
